Decora Powder Coatings is an environmentally friendly company, committed to a sustainable, green manufacturing environment.
In addition to being the more durable and attractive choice, powder coating is also highly protective of our environment.
Negligible VOCs and HAPs (hazardous air pollutants) Free: Powder coatings contain no solvents and therefore emit negligible, if any, polluting VOCs into the atmosphere.
Less Exhaust : Powder coating is a clean process, allowing exhaust air from the coating booth to be returned to the plant, and less oven air is exhausted to the outside. Heating and cooling costs are eliminated for make-up air and the cost for maintaining oven temperatures is minimized.
Reusable Overspray: Powder overspray can be retrieved and reused.
No Costly Waste Disposal Equipment
Unused powder can be reclaimed and returned to a hopper for recirculation through the system, with negligible waste.
Powder coating qualifies for the U.S. Green Building Council’s LEED program.
All our machinery is PC controlled and automatically reduces power consumption when the lines are not being fully utilized. This equipment achieves upward to 95% efficiency in reclaiming over sprayed powder. The powder center automatically adjusts reclaimed powder with virgin powder to ensure that an efficient mix of the two particle sizes is achieved.
- We use many special formulated "low-cure" powders in our operation and utilize infrared heating to achieve more uniform and efficient cure cycles.
- Our per-treatment is made up of chemicals developed with the environment in mind. By not using carcinogenic hexavalent chrome we can process our material with out producing toxic waste and finished product that contains toxic substance.
- Our facility lighting operates on motion sensors that turn off the lights automatically.
